Our founder Katy Clarke started her Italian adventures before she even placed a foot on a well worn cobblestoned path. Renaissance history studies sparked her curiosity so when she finally arrived in Europe (after a very long journey from Australia), she made a beeline for Italy as soon as she could.
Her first stop was Lake Garda – a place that stole her heart and inspired many Italian trips to come.
Since then Katy has traveled over 40 times to Italy, exploring top to toe with a mission to visit all 20 regions and uncover their untold secrets.
After dabbling in travel blogging on her family and food site Untold Morsels, Katy decided to focus on her first travel love, Italy!
We launched Untold Italy (this website) and our free to join Italy Travel Planning community on Facebook. Now with over 150,000 members, our friendly and active group is there to answer your trip planning questions like where to find the best carbonara in Rome and how to validate your bus tickets so you avoid a fine.

But we did anyway! And we’re proud to say we continued publishing episodes throughout the pandemic – keeping our dreams of Italy alive. Each week we share travel stories, interview locals and divulge our Italy travel tips.
Today our podcast reaches over 100,000 listeners a month and appears in the top 10 travel podcast lists for the USA, Australia, Canada and New Zealand.

Over many years of travel in Italy we’ve become more passionate about exploring the countryside and small towns away from the main tourist areas. We wanted to share that magic with the world but knew that you need to drive and speak Italian to enjoy the local experiences we cherish. So, we started a tour company – Untold Italy Tours.

I never heard of the Italian Riviera until I read your blog. We have changed our plans to include 4 days in Portofino. I found a small villa right on the shore.
I thoroughly enjoyed our time in Italy and the lovely hotels you suggested helped tremendously. We loved them all. The views from the terraces, the breakfasts, the position, the service, all great!
