Can't I find all the information I need to plan my Italy trip online?
The internet has no shortage of Italy travel advice but most of it is generic, some of it is outdated, and none of it knows anything about you or your trip. Clients tell us they have spent weeks researching and still cannot make the decisions that matter. That is not a research failure. That is what happens when you are trying to filter thousands of conflicting opinions with no way to know which ones apply to your situation. What we bring is current, specific, and built around your trip. We know which advice from two years ago no longer holds. We know that the answer to “should I rent a car in Tuscany?” depends on where in Tuscany you are going. We know the restaurant every blog recommends and the one you are most likely to love. More research cannot give you that but our team with over 60 years of combined experience living and traveling in Italy can.
What can we cover in a one hour consultation?
More than you might expect. Route logic, the right number of nights in each location, trains versus car, where to stay in areas you are less familiar with, day trips worth taking, pacing for your travel style, and specific hotel, restaurant and activity recommendations. Come prepared and one hour covers serious ground.
Will I receive something in writing?
Yes. Within seven days of your call you receive a personalized plan (a document in PDF format) covering your route, up to three hotel options per stop, restaurant picks, transport guidance, and links ready to book. You also have ten days of follow-up email support after delivery for any questions about the plan. Plus instructions on how to access the premium version of the Untold Italy app.
How many options do you provide?
Up to three per category — hotels, restaurants, and activities — each chosen for your travel style and budget, with notes on why we picked them.
Can we cover more than one destination?
Yes. The consultation is built around your whole trip, not a single destination. For a standard 2 week trip we can cover 4-5 destinations in Italy.
What is not included?
We do not make bookings on your behalf. We recommend, you book. The plan covers everything agreed on the call. Unlimited revisions and open-ended research outside the agreed scope are not included. Is this the right service for me?
The Trip Consultation works best when you have a rough idea of where you want to go and need an expert to shape it into a real plan. If you only have one or two specific questions, the Quick Fix Chat is a better fit. If you want every detail of your trip figured out before you leave, choose Itinerary Planning.
Can I upgrade to Itinerary Planning during the call?
es. If it becomes clear during the call that you need more comprehensive support, your specialist will walk you through it.
We are returning visitors. Italy is not new to us. Can you still add value?
Often our most interesting calls are with people who already love Italy and know what they do not know. They come with great questions and are ready for the version of Italy that takes a few trips to find. Returning visitors make up roughly half our bookings, and we love sharing a mutual passion for Italy.
How much does it cost for longer trips or larger groups?
The standard price of $350 USD applies to trips up to 14 days for groups of up to six people. For trips longer than two weeks or groups larger than six, custom pricing applies. Email trips@untolditaly.com with your details for a quote.
Can I reschedule my call?
Yes. Reach out to your consultant directly and they will find another time that works.
What do you need from us before the call?
You fill in a short form when you book: who is traveling, rough destinations, dates, interests, and what is on your mind. The more specific you are, the better the call will be. Write down the questions you are stuck on. If you have a draft itinerary, share it. We read everything before we speak to you.
Can I pay in my own currency?
Our services are priced in US dollars. We also accept Australian dollars, New Zealand dollars, Canadian dollars, British pounds, and Euros. Email trips@untolditaly.com for a quote in your currency.
