Can I use my Australian hairdryer in Italy?
Last updated on June 3, 2026
Using an Australian hairdryer in Italy requires some consideration. Italy operates on a voltage of 230V and uses Type F plugs, while Australia uses 230V as well but has different plug types (Type I). If your hairdryer is dual voltage, you can simply use a plug adapter to fit the Italian outlets. However, if it’s not dual voltage, using it could damage the hairdryer or pose a safety risk. In that case, it’s best to purchase a travel hairdryer that is compatible with Italian voltage or use one provided by your accommodation.
